Christel House Jamaica announces Board of Directors

Christel House Jamaica (“CHJ”) has announced its Board of Directors. The NGO is building a new school near Spanish Town which will open in August 2020 for grades KG – 2. Each year thereafter an additional 60 kindergarten students will be admitted, and the school will grow organically until it reaches capacity at grade 13.

Christel House is an international NGO with a proven track record of helping children from deeply distressed communities around the world achieve their potential. The new school is being built on a 10-acre parcel next to the Jose Marti High School, which the Jamaican government has made available. At its own expense, Christel House is constructing a facility which will ultimately serve approximately 840 students from the area. Admission to the tuition-free school is needs-based. In addition to academics, leadership and character education, students will receive books, uniforms, transportation and health services, as well as breakfast, lunch and a snack daily.
