PwC helps prepare students for workforce of the future

As the pandemic caused disruption and uncertainty at school, 41 Christel House Mexico (CHMX) students received some extra help and guidance exploring careers through online mentoring. PwC Mexico launched the mentor program to help students develop a diverse range of skills. Connecting online, dozens of PwC employees volunteered to help Christel House students by providing vocational guidance, lessons on financial literacy, and offering insights on understanding work environments. “The mentors were open and very willing to help us with each of our doubts,” says Andrea N., Grade 12. “They were there in every way, and I must acknowledge the enormous effort they made.” Félix H. says his mentor helped him overcome his fear of entering university. “The PwC mentoring was a great support.” Gina Reyes Zarate, Assistant Principal, admits CHMX students have always faced challenges. But the pandemic has made their reality even more difficult. “The PwC volunteers were an external voice that told them that despite everything that was happening there was still hope. They were a beacon to our students in a very difficult time,” she says. “Thank you for giving them love, trust and sharing your knowledge.”
