Fencing our way to the top

Our all-girl fencing team competed in the Gauteng National Ranking Competition, held at Orlando Community Centre, in Johannesburg on Sunday, 9 May. After a month and a half of strenuous training, our team did extremely well with one of our students, Azile M, being placed 5th in the Under 20 Women's Epee competition at the Gauteng National Open. Azile wishes to improve on her ranking and compete internationally in the future.

“The amount of training truly paid off and I am proud of each one of them. Their dedication and passion for fencing is what drove them into doing so well. We do hope in future that we get to play internationally,” says Mr. Randall Daniels, Fencing Coach at Christel House SA.

Christel House SA has a proud history in fencing, having produced seven Springbok fencers, with one student representing South Africa at the Junior Olympics in 2010.
