Two Christel House Indianapolis seniors gained valuable career experience when they went to work during their summer break. Briana L. and Melanie G. were invited to join the OneAmerica Pathways Junior Fellows Program. “We got to know the company,” says Melanie. “They’re like a big family.” The five-week virtual internship allows students to learn about careers in the financial services and insurance industry. “We got to see so many departments through job-shadowing,” says Briana. The program also provided mentors for the students. “My mentor helped me set up goals for my future,” says Melanie. “I hope to stay in contact with my mentor.” This is the first year Christel House has participated in the OneAmerica Pathways Junior Fellows Program. “Christel House’s College & Careers program exposes students to careers that pertain to their individual strengths,” says J. Scott Davison, President and CEO, OneAmerica. “As a workforce partner, we’ll work to recruit and nominate Christel House Indianapolis scholars into the Pathways Junior Fellows Program.”
