Christel House DORS, the adult high school, invited parents to bring their young children to class. Partnering with Indianapolis-based WFYI Public Media, DORS hosted a series of PBS Kids family workshops – the goal to help parents prepare their kids for school. With a focus on STEM learning (science, technology, engineering and math), families work together solving puzzles, learning science concepts and practicing their engineering design skills. DORS student Lekisha Muse and her children enjoyed the hands-on workshops. “It’s a wonderful family learning experience,” says Carly Weidman, WFYI Community Engagement.
