Dual credit classes count for college

Dual credit classes will give senior Erick R. a big head start for college. His five dual credit courses at Christel House Academy South in Indianapolis count as university credit – a semester’s worth of classes that will save him time and money. Christel House counselor Kelly Millbee teaches Psychology 101, a dual credit class, and says the classes also prepare kids for university learning. “By taking these courses, students develop independent skills they will need to be successful in college.” The dual credit program is run through the University of Indianapolis (UIndy), but credits can transfer to any college. As part of the university’s partnership with Christel House, UIndy also offers full-tuition scholarships to Academy seniors who graduate with an Honors Diploma. 78% of the 2018 graduating class earned Honors Diplomas and were eligible for this scholarship.
