Kaha and Nimo are sisters from Somalia now studying at Christel House DORS. These siblings have career ambitions – Nimo dreams of becoming a doctor and Kaha plans to be a teacher. They are grateful to be learning. The sisters discovered DORS, the adult high school, through friends. The experience has been very good. “We are lucky to be in America,” says Kaha. Meredith Harris, ESL (English Second Language) Instructional Assistant at DORS says Kaha and Nimo are examples of the kinds of students Christel House DORS attracts. “I love teaching them,” says Meredith. “They are outgoing and such quick learners. They are so much fun to teach.”
