Global team collaborates for Christel House Colombia

Last modified on October 28, 2026

Programs & Services leaders from across the Christel House network came together last month for two weeks of training and collaboration in preparation for launching the Christel House model in Colombia next year. Tania Álvarez, Academic Director, and Ingrid Aguilar, Community and Social Services Director of Christel House Mexico, CHI’s Senior Director of Academics, Annabelle Hardy, and Christel House Colombia Chief Academic Officer, José Vicente, all spent time working with the Barbacoas school’s leadership team. They focused on strengthening leadership capacity and establishing academic and programmatic priorities as the model is implemented in 2027 through 2029.

The collaboration reflects the strength of our global network, bringing expertise and experience across countries to support a successful school transition. In January 2027, the Christel House model will be officially introduced at the Barbacoas school on the island of Barú, which has served its community for 29 years and currently welcomes approximately 700 students and 50 staff members. Thanks to Tanya and Ingrid for sharing their expertise with the Colombia team.
