Our holistic model is central to our global mission. It empowers students experiencing extreme poverty to achieve economic mobility, demonstrate good citizenship, and identify and realize their goals, dreams, and human potential.
We provide a robust support system to our students from early childhood through high school graduation, and we continue to support them through a five-year College & Careers program as they navigate post-secondary education and launch their careers.
Spanning five countries and three continents, Christel House schools are united by a common vision for excellent education. Our academic program is characterized by high expectations, active and applied learning, and a set of interventions and supports to facilitate strong academic achievement for all students. By fostering a growth mindset among students and staff, we ensure our students experience an academic program that far exceeds the level of rigor within their respective countries.
Our comprehensive academic program – supplemented with sports, creative arts, and technology offerings – is designed for students to attain the skills, mindsets, and habits essential for post-secondary education and career success. We emphasize literacy and numeracy skills, and weave in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through all aspects of our schools, providing time and space for students and teachers to innovate using technology.
Christel House’s committed and highly qualified instructional leaders and teachers are from the countries where our schools are located, and their deep knowledge of the local context is critical to our model’s success.

For that reason, we ensure all learners have access to mental health services. Our in-house counselors and social workers ensure learners have access to one-on-one sessions, group work, classroom interventions, and family support.
Every student receives nutritious meals and snacks daily. Outside the U.S., our health services extend beyond basic care; students receive regular medical, dental, and vision check-ups, as well as vaccinations. We also integrate a health education program into our curriculum and collaborate with external healthcare providers to offer professional care for our students.

To that end, Christel House promotes global values such as respect, responsibility, independence, and integrity.
Each school implements an intentional leadership development program, aligned to the local context, which provides students with opportunities to practice character and leadership in authentic settings inside and outside the school. Students participate in a variety of community service projects that
enable them to apply their skills and values in real-world settings. These activities help them develop empathy, compassion, and a sense of responsibility and civic duty.
Christel House partners with families and caregivers to co-create student success. We provide opportunities for parents and caregivers to contribute to the school, acquire knowledge and skills, support their child’s education, interact with other parents, build community, and work towards their own economic goals.
We regularly conduct surveys to gauge the needs and interests of our students, parents, and caregivers.
Our dedication to student success continues beyond graduation through the College & Careers program. Starting in the early elementary grades, students explore potential career paths and educational opportunities. Beginning in high school, and extending after graduation, we provide personalized, one-on-one coaching, targeted workshops, and networking opportunities. These strategies support our students to navigate the complex processes of university and vocational training applications, to secure scholarships, and prepare for successful career placements.
Our deep understanding of local job markets—including in-demand jobs in STEM industries—combined with our strong relationships with employers, helps our graduates transition smoothly into relevant and rewarding professional jobs.

The College & Careers Collaboration is a new partnership with four Indianapolis high schools serving students with economic need.
The initiative embeds Christel House Career Coaches into partner high schools to provide career guidance, coaching, assistance with post-secondary enrollment, and work-based learning experiences at the secondary level as well as graduate support to bridge the gap between high school graduation and early career success. Graduates receive one-on-one career coaching, access to emergency financial support, and employer networks.
