Christel House friends and supporters gathered for a truly special evening at RH Indianapolis—the former home of our Founder, Christel DeHaan—to celebrate an exciting new chapter for Christel House India. The Gala for India welcomed more than 150 guests for a night filled with vibrant Indian cuisine, music, dancing, and heartfelt remarks from Jaison C Mathew, CEO of Christel House India. The atmosphere was festive, but the message was powerful: our mission is growing—and so is our impact. During the evening, Mathew shared inspiring updates about Christel House’s future: “Over time, we realized education alone wasn’t enough. To truly transform lives, we had to walk alongside our students—and their families—every step of the way,” he shared. “In Bangalore, we’re preparing to expand our school by 50%. We will welcome 70 new students in June—just one month from now—and we’re busy building and furnishing new classrooms to make that happen.”

And the exciting news didn’t stop there. Mathew also announced: “We are thrilled to share that Christel House has officially secured an agreement to operate a brand-new K–12 school just outside Pune City.”

In addition to celebrating our expansion efforts, Christel House announced a new partnership with professional tennis star Rajeev Ram and the Rajeev Ram Foundation. A six-time Grand Slam champion and two-time Olympic medalist, Rajeev will serve as an Ambassador for Christel House, helping champion our mission in India and around the world. It was a beautiful night of community, hope, and inspiration to raise funds to support the expansion plans in India.
