Students sign up for classes in Pune as the school is set to open in April 2026. (INSET) CH India Jaison C Mathew displays the MOU for Thane with Deputy Commissioner of TMC, Mr. Sachin Sangale.
Fresh off the announcement of plans for a new school in Pune, Christel House India has signed an agreement to launch a fourth campus in Thane, located in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The collaboration with Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) will see the new school open in June 2026, located on a 60,500-square-foot campus provided rent-free by TMC. The facility will include 58 classrooms, four labs, a library, and an administration block. Initially serving up to 210 students in Kindergarten through Grade 2, the school will expand over time to some 1,150 students and graduates from Kindergarten through Grade 12 and the College & Careers program. CH India is already preparing for the launch by recruiting teachers and staff, conducting community outreach, and planning to start the student admissions process this November.
“The Thane Municipal Corporation, under the leadership of Mr. Saurabh Rao, has shown remarkable vision in partnering with Christel House to bring world-class education to underserved communities,” said CH India CEO, Jaison C Mathew. “Together, we aim to create a model of public–private collaboration that builds brighter futures for India’s children.” The new Thane school marks another significant milestone in Christel House’s partnership with local governments to expand access to high-quality education for children from marginalized communities.
Meanwhile, in Pune, student registration has now begun following the signing earlier this year of an agreement with the Maharashtra government. The new campus, slated to open in April 2026, will be located on 13 acres of land provided rent-free for 30 years by Pune ZP and FIAT Industries India. The school will welcome 180 children in Kindergarten through Grade 2 in its first year and grow annually to serve over 1,800 students through Grade 12 and beyond with the College & Careers program. With strong support from government and corporate partners, Pune’s educational hub provides an ideal foundation for Christel House’s model of academic excellence and holistic development.
As CH India expands to Thane and Pune, these new schools will bring life-changing opportunities to hundreds of children and families, reflecting our enduring commitment to support students “from classrooms to life.”
