On Saturday, June 14, 2025, Christel House India achieved a major milestone by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a new Christel House school in Pune. CH India CEO Jason C Mathew was joined at the signing ceremony by several senior government leaders, including the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Education Minister, Deputy Speaker of the State House, and CEO of Pune ZP—a strong show of confidence in Christel House’s mission and impact.

The school will be located in a newly constructed facility on 13 acres of land provided by Pune ZP and FIAT Industries India under a rent-free 30-year lease. Slated to open in April 2026, the campus will begin operations with 180 children in grades KG-2, growing by one grade level each year until it serves over 1,800 students through grade 12. Given its status as India’s educational hub, the strong support from local government and FIAT, and a large population of students ready to be served, Pune represents an ideal opportunity for expansion.

Execution of the MOU marks the final step in Pune ZP’s process for selecting a partner to operate the school, but just the first step toward serving a new generation of children in the area. After signing the MOU, Mathew shared his appreciation for the chance to expand Christel House’s impact and enthusiasm for the task ahead: “I take this opportunity to thank all for their support in the entire process and for your patience. The real work starts now!”
