From “Classrooms to Life” is now streaming worldwide

Last modified on June 16, 2026

The documentary short film, From Classrooms to Life, is now available to stream online, bringing the Christel House experience directly to supporters and new audiences. David Reviews, a UK-based online publication, selected it as a “Pick” with a five-star review declaring the film delivers. “Christel House has been quietly providing life-changing opportunities for children caught by a poverty trap since its foundation in 1998,” writes reviewer Jason Stone. “It is time to make a little noise about it, and this introductory doc does exactly that, but it does it in a fashion which seems entirely in keeping with the humility displayed by those who work there.”

Following April’s global premiere in London, we hosted a special screening in Indianapolis celebrating the film. Over 130 guests gathered at RH Indianapolis, the former estate of our Founder, Christel DeHaan, for the screening, including special guests Vanessa Lanci, a co-producer of the film, and Christel House India alumna, Nagashree Hanumanthappa (see story below). The U.S. premiere co-hosted by CH Europe Board member Caron Chung was held at CORE: New York, to a full house, including Emmy winner Paul Burger, who directed our documentary and participated in a conversation about making the film.

To produce the documentary, Christel House partnered with the award-winning team at Moirai Films. The filmmakers traveled to six countries over 38 days—Colombia, India, Jamaica, Mexico, South Africa, and the United States—to capture the voices, experiences, and relationships that define Christel House.
