The Indianapolis Business Journal put Christel House’s ambitious expansion plans in the spotlight with a front-page article. President and CEO David Harris shared the vision of expanding in countries Christel House currently serves, as well as two new countries. “Our North Star, and this really came from our founder, Christel DeHaan, has been to move kids experiencing significant poverty out of poverty,” Harris told the IBJ, emphasizing our comprehensive approach that extends beyond academics to include nutrition, health care, and career support. The article also shared the story of Dr. Nathan Daniels, a graduate of Christel House South Africa. Now a trauma surgeon, Dr. Daniels recounted how his Christel House education shaped his future, taking him from a challenging neighborhood in Cape Town to studying medicine at Stellenbosch University. Jaison C Mathew, CEO of Christel House India, also was interviewed about expansion plans in India, reinforcing the school’s commitment to transforming not just students but entire communities. “We are giving that opportunity, and it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that we give to our children and the communities,” he said.
