Expansion plans are moving forward at Christel House South Africa (CHSA). The school recently hosted a donor briefing at Wesgro’s Cape Town offices to engage and excite supporters about building a second Christel House school. CEO Adri Marais shared insights into the current school’s impact, while David Harris, President and CEO of Christel House International, outlined global expansion plans. Western Cape Minister of Education David Maynier reinforced the critical need for accessible, high-quality schooling in the region, urging support for a second Christel House in South Africa.

This donor engagement follows a groundbreaking milestone as CHSA celebrated the launch of its first expansion project—doubling the number of high school students served on its existing Cape Town campus. Construction for additional high school classrooms is underway, ensuring more students can access Christel House’s life-changing education.

“This is a day we’ve been looking forward to,” said Marais during the groundbreaking ceremony. “If our country needs high schools, then let’s build high schools—this is just the beginning as Christel House aims to support even more children through its tried-and-tested model of holistic education.”

With the start of the new school year, CHSA welcomed 124 new Grade 8 students to its growing campus. The high school expansion will be phased, with additional Grade 8 students recruited each year until the high school is fully enrolled. The new high school will house 300 additional students and will include 13 additional classrooms. “We are laying the groundwork for a brighter future for generations to come,” says Marais.

As Christel House South Africa continues to expand, the school remains committed to breaking the cycle of poverty through education, ensuring that more students have the opportunity to build successful futures.
