Jamaica government commits $1.2M for high school construction

Last modified on February 20, 2026

In a landmark show of partnership and confidence, the Government of Jamaica recently paid the entire $1.2 million (USD) it had pledged toward funding 50% of the construction costs for CH Jamaica’s new Senior School. The payment represents a major public investment in the Christel House model and underscores the government’s belief in the strength and long-term impact of our approach to education. The new facility opened its doors in August 2025, marking a significant step forward in expanding access to quality secondary education for students and families. In October 2025, leaders from across government, education, and the community gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility
