OUR STORIES

On October 20, Christel House schools around the world marked Founders Day, honoring the birthday of founder Christel DeHaan and the vision that continues to change lives through education and opportunity. In South Africa, students paid tribute through music, poetry and reflections on Christel’s legacy. Chief Academic Officer Dr. Ronald Fortune reminded students, “The values underpinning her vision and her life are worth learning from, living by, and passing on.” In Indianapolis, Christel House DORS students and CH Indianapolis high school seniors teamed up to honor Christel’s spirit of service by volunteering with Toys for Tots, sorting toys to help bring joy to children during the holiday season. Across all Christel House schools, Founders Day is a reminder that Christel’s vision lives on in the students we serve, the values we share and the opportunities we create together.
