“Growing up, I had many challenges,” Nadine says. Most nights she went to bed hungry. “Both my parents didn’t finish school, so I had to study and do homework without much help, though my parents were very supportive.” Then, Nadine started at Christel House South Africa in grade 5. “I had the best experience. The help we got was beyond what I expected. The teachers were more than teachers – they went above and beyond and I’m forever grateful.” Nadine was inspired to become a 4th grade teacher at the school. “Christel House taught me to dream big, go big and always keep pushing. Even if we fall, we get back up and we try again.”
