Mandela Day Drop-off event in South Africa on 17 July

We are inviting individuals and organisations to spend 67-minutes for #MandelaDay to assemble much-needed COVID-19 goodies for our students and to drop it off at our school on Friday, 17 July between 10h30 and 13h00.

Items that are needed:

-          Food parcels that are filled with non-perishable items, valued at R150 per parcel

-          Cloth masks which can be made at home or purchased

See how you can make face masks here: video 1 video 2

-          Hand sanitiser to help students stay protected against COVID-19

741 Impoverished students from Grade R-12 attend Christel House South Africa and the aim is to provide each of them and their families with a little extra help this Mandela Day. Donors can drop the goodies off at our school in a drive-through fashion and write a special message of hope for our children on our big Mandela Day blackboard.

“With this current pandemic, it is even more important now to show solidarity and protect the most vulnerable members of our communities. Help us gather essential items for our students and join us for a fun-filled, social distancing event where we’ll show you our Christel House magic in the safest way possible,” says Avril Hermanus, Clinical Nurse Practitioner at Christel House South Africa.

PLEASE NOTE: Christel House security will screen all visitors for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering the school. Please remember to keep a safe social distance and wear a face mask.
