Kids embrace reading with library partnership

Nearly 300 Christel House Academy South students were the first in Indianapolis to read the newest “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” book through a partnership with the Indianapolis Public Library. “It’s fun to see the level of enthusiasm of the kids,” says Jackie Nytes, CEO of the Indianapolis Public Library. “They filled a gym to celebrate reading!” Hundreds of brand-new hard cover books, the latest in the popular series, were checked out to students in a distribution ceremony at the school. This is the third year for the reading event and enthusiasm continues to grow. “Having this relationship with the Marion County Library is something we are fortunate to have,” says Jenny Reynolds, Christel House Academy South Principal. “It shows our kids the power of a library card.”
