Two years ago, Austin F., a student at Christel House DORS, says his math skills were limited to simple addition and subtraction. But as he worked to earn his diploma at the adult high school, Austin discovered that understanding math has given him a new, positive outlook. “My math skills have changed everything about my life,” he says. Samantha Griffith, math instructor at DORS, says Austin is an amazing student. “He sets a high bar for himself, always striving to improve,” she says. “He’s quite a motivated student.” Austin will graduate DORS in the Spring and plans to continue his education at IVY Tech, pursuing a career as a computer analyst. “It’s a really great experience coming to Christel House DORS,” he says. “They help so much – I’ve never gone to a school like this before.”
