Competition inspires girls to tech careers

Seven teams of girls from Christel House Mexico (CHMX) participated in the annual Technovation Challenge. Girls learn and apply their skills to solve real-world problems through technology. The competition was fierce but one Christel House team made it to the regional finals in Mexico City. They designed an app to timely remind users to take their medications. The TechCHMX team’s app also tracks when users take their medicines so the files can be checked by a doctor. Jesus Morales, a 2009 CHMX graduate, mentored the team. After receiving such positive feedback from the judges, the girls are now considering STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
