Families and friends celebrate DORS graduation

For the adult learners at Christel House DORS, earning that high school diploma is a family affair. Sixty-eight students, ranging in age from 18 to 42, participated in commencement activities that included a rose ceremony for grads to show appreciation to their supporters. Dorthea Dillard received a rose from her youngest son, Steven. “I’m excited and so proud of him,” says Dorthea. “We brought the whole family out to support him.” LaRay Stewart, a graduate speaker, invited her two young sons to join her on stage. Carey Dahncke, Christel House Head of Schools says, “These adult graduates have forever changed life’s trajectory for themselves and their families. Their success will make our community a better place.”
