STATEMENT ON CHRISTEL HOUSE INDIA - LAVASA

A decade ago, the Hindustan Construction Company developed a comprehensive master plan to create a totally new city, Lavasa. It selected Christel House to operate a school it was building to educate children from the impoverished villages which were relocated to clear the area for development.

Due to a number of operational constraints, Christel House and Lavasa agreed that responsibility for running the school would be returned to Lavasa Corporation, effective with the 2017-18 academic year. Lavasa will admit paying students in grades K-8, but impoverished children from the surrounding villages will continue to receive free education.
