For students, creating computer code can be like playing a game – that’s the theory behind “Hour of Code,” a programming demonstration at the Indiana Statehouse. Twenty-eight Christel House Academy South (CHAS) students learned by mastering the laptop game simulation that mirrors the coding process. David R., a junior at Christel House, understands it well. He showed Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb how the code software works. Jeremiah Barnes, CHAS K-6 Technology Teacher, says this kind of computer experience is essential for the future. “Learning computer coding is part of Christel House’s emphasis to prepare students for post school careers.”
