Christel House DORS and the Metropolitan School District of Decatur Township have entered into a joint collaboration to serve 25 at-risk students within Decatur Township on Indianapolis’ southwest side. The unique partnership between a public school district and DORS, a charter school is being formed to offer options for students to find success regardless of their life circumstances.
In June, Christel House DORS graduated the largest class in its five-year history. For Emily Masengale, Principal of DORS, the adult high school is very unique. “We service a variety of students from all walks of life,” she says. “DORS is a second chance.”
The students from Decatur Township will attend Christel House DORS West. The partnership will provide opportunities for collaboration on shared professional development and other educational services.
