Academy's Maynard is a TV Star!

Maynard, the Christel House Academy West facility dog, gets plenty of attention at school. Now he’s getting even more - the popular pooch is going to be on TV! The nationally syndicated program, “Pet Pals TV” recently visited the school.

The TV crew will be sharing the story of the positive impact Maynard has on student learning at Christel House. Patty Spitler, the host and producer of “Pet Pals TV” fell in love with Maynard. She was impressed with her time at Christel House Academy West. For the journalist, she likes telling the story of how the school is using the dog to help children. “Because we all know that good pets make it better for everybody. So, win-win!”

Debby Nauta, Instructional Coach at Christel House Academy West is Maynard's handler. "I tell him every day you have a very important job. And now you are super-famous and everyone wants to hear about what you do.”

Maynard’s story will air on “Pet Pals TV” on TV stations across the United States. The program will air in Indianapolis on WISH-TV Channel 8 on Sunday, May 7 at 10am with an encore airing on Saturday, May 13 at 8:30am on WNDY, Channel 23.
